This walk start from the Cuber water reservoir and half way along the route towards Soller. We have our sandwiches overlooking the valley of Soller from 700 meters above sea level. Then we walk back to where we left the car.  

If you are making the complete trip Soller - Cuber - Tossals Verds, then it is a long trip 6-7 hours walk, and 500 meters uphill.

To get to our starting point, first drive to Soller. From Soller drive on along the road to Lluc. After 16 Km. and passing a small tunnel you can easily see the water reservoir. You are at the 34Km. mark on the road. Don't mistake it for the small pond you meet just after the tunnel. You must go on some 2-3 kilometres along the road. Passed the military camp.

Our trip is easy walking, first along the water to the dam. Here is a junction leading down along the water pipe to Tossals Verds. (This is a unmarked route and you need flash lights to get through the tunnels further down.) We follow the road. By the end of the reservoir, you can see the refugio "Cuber". It looked pretty occupied by someone who had come by car!! Tel 971 431782 for more info about Refugio. Advance booking needed. Said to be long waiting list.

The road leads on. You will be passing a gate. To the left you see a warning sign about loose bulls. I didn't see any, and the sign looked old anyway.

After 1 Hr. you get to s small forest. Follow the track through the wood for 15 more minutes, and then you are in the open again. In front of you see the valley of Soller. One of the most rewarding views on Mallorca. This was the turning point for us. The route leads on from here towards the houses of L'Ofre ,then down Barranc  de Biniarix, and to Soller. Descending 500 m. The route is clearly marked with wood signs.

On a Sunday this is a popular track, and you will meet several people. During the week, you are on your own, and there is little shelter to be found in the area. Total distance covered out and back was 8 Km.

Back at the start point we walked the few hundred meters to have a look at the Recreation Area "Sa Font des Noguer". Here are 12 grill places. Natural spring water for drinking as well. Here you find the marked path to Tossals Verds, along the concrete water channel coming from the other water reservoir Gorg Blau.

A few practical tips:

From Soller you can take the bus to Lluc - Pollensa. Ask the driver to drop you off at Embalses Cuber. The bus is leaving twice daily from Port of Soller and at the gas station where the road towards Lluc starts. First around 9 o'clock and again at 15.00 hours. Don't count of getting the bus back, there is no "official" bus stop. In that case you need a Taxi 971  638484  Price about 22 Euro ( 2003)
