The hotel was designed by the Catalan Modernist architect: Lluis Domènech y Montaner. It is now a cultural centre, owned by the Caixa bank, which also carried out the restoration. There is a good book shop here also, and a smart bar/cafeteria. Built  between 1901 and 1903. Opening hours are Tuesday until Saturday (included) 10-21 hr. Sunday and public holidays 10-14 hr. Monday closed.
