Banalbufar dates back to
pre. Arab times. When Jaume I, and later King Juan de Aragon
conquered the island , it was granted as a Barony. The economy
was based on agriculture and wine. However the wine fields
were all destroyed during the wine plague in this
century. Now tourism play an important role, also many houses
have been made second home from residents from Palma and abroad.
There are two interesting buildings to visit. The church, and "Sa
Baronia". Both located near main street. During the middle age
the coast was attacked many times by pirates, and more than 10
observation towers were build. The remaining are interesting
