This section is a quick reference guide to Menorca, Baleares Spain.

Menorca is an island in the Baleares group of island. The other islands are called Mallorca and Ibiza. It is also the least developed by mass tourism. The climate is with warm summers, getting some hot spells during July and August. The winters are cool and windy.
 

The history of Menorca tells of Roman, and later Muslim dominance. From the 13th century, Christian kings ruled the island. In the 16th century, pirate attacks were frequent and almost left the island deserted. The English controlled the island for 100 years in the 18th century, and used it as a naval base. Today tourism is the main source of income, together with construction business.
 

Menorca is 50 Km. long. The coast line of more than 200 Km. There are many small beaches and coves. Flat areas with long beaches are found s well. Link to travel-fact.com
